What’s the Pre-Wedding Timeline for Plastic Surgery?

Are you planning a wedding this year? If so, you’re probably mired in preparations. From booking the venue to hiring the photographer and setting the seating chart, there’s so much to think about to make your day perfect.

Of course, you’ve likely given your appearance significant consideration. Perhaps you’re upping your diet and exercise game to sculpt your body for optimal results. Yet, diet and exercise don’t always cut it.

And if you’re struggling to strike the look you’re imagining, it might be that you could use some body contouring or skincare services to enhance your natural appearance. Of course, plastic surgery is not an overnight fix. So, as part of your planning, you need to understand the pre-wedding timeline for plastic surgery.

What Is the Pre-Wedding Timeline for Plastic Surgery?

For the most part, any upgrades you want to make to your appearance will require some amount of recovery. So if you’re considering plastic surgery or even a minimally invasive procedure, be sure to give yourself enough time to fully heal before your wedding day.

Also, if you find a surgeon who guarantees he or she can do the work in a short amount of time, that’s a red flag. Especially if the surgeon is not board-certified. Whether you want to rejuvenate your skin, remove stubborn fat, tighten loose skin, or enhance your breasts, it’s crucial you meet with a qualified surgeon for a consultation.

He or she will help you determine the best plan of action to meet your aesthetic goals by your wedding day. In the meantime, we’ll take a look at a few procedures here and the timeline involved.

Approximate Timeline for Specific Procedures

Obviously, there are numerous plastic surgery procedures available. Across the board though, we find the most common procedures brides (and some grooms) are seeking before their weddings are rhinoplasties (nose jobs), skin rejuvenation procedures, breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tucks, dermal fillers, Botox, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion.

Of the above list, the rhinoplasty procedure requires the longest amount of time at five months. This is due, in part, to the fact that it’s a surgical procedure. But because it’s surgery on your face, you want to ensure you are completely recovered so there is no sign of bruising of any kind.

You should also allot four months for skin rejuvenation procedures that require surgery and/or involve a regimen that you’ll need to establish and maintain for optimal results.

Surgical procedures such as liposuction, tummy tuck, and even a breast augmentation should be performed at least three months before your wedding to ensure the best results and full recovery.

Dermal fillers and Botox should be done two to three weeks before your wedding, while you can get last-minute touchups with a peel or microdermabrasion to give your face a glow two to three days before the event.
