Mini Facelift
Subtle Lift, Significant Refresh
What Is a Mini Facelift?
A mini facelift is a less invasive surgical procedure that targets early signs of aging in the lower face and jawline. Sometimes called a “weekend facelift,” this procedure focuses on tightening mild to moderate sagging around the cheeks, jowls, and jaw without the more extensive incisions of a full facelift.
Ideal for younger patients or those looking for a subtle refresh, a mini facelift enhances natural contours while minimizing downtime. It delivers smoother, firmer skin and a more youthful appearance—often with minimal scarring and faster recovery.

Understanding the Mini Facelift Procedure
A mini facelift is typically performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on your preference and the surgeon’s recommendation. The procedure usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours.
Because the mini facelift focuses on specific areas of concern, it offers a more subtle transformation than a full facelift—but with highly natural-looking and satisfying results.
1. Incision Placement:
Small incisions are made along the hairline and around the front of the ears, allowing for discreet access to underlying tissues.
2. Tissue Lifting and Tightening:
Through these incisions, the surgeon lifts and repositions underlying facial muscles and tissues, addressing sagging in the mid-to-lower face.
3. Skin Repositioning:
Excess skin is gently removed, and the remaining skin is redraped to create a firmer, more defined facial contour.
4. Closure:
Incisions are closed with fine sutures to minimize visible scarring and support the healing process.
Mini Facelift Recovery – What to Expect
Recovery from a mini facelift is typically faster and more comfortable than that of a full facelift. Most patients return to daily activities within 5 to 7 days.
Mild swelling, bruising, and tightness are expected during the first week but are easily managed with cold compresses and prescribed medications. Sutures are usually removed within a week, and makeup can often be worn to conceal any lingering discoloration.
Strenuous activity should be avoided for approximately two to three weeks. Final results become increasingly noticeable as the swelling subsides, revealing a smoother, more youthful facial appearance that can last several years with proper skincare and healthy habits.
Mini Facelift FAQs
How long do results from a mini facelift last?
While not as extensive as a full facelift, a mini facelift can produce results that last five to ten years. Lifestyle, sun exposure, and skincare will impact the longevity of your results.
Will the results look natural?
Yes. Our skilled surgeons at Star Plastic Surgery focus on subtle rejuvenation and natural contours—never pulled or artificial-looking results.
Can a mini facelift be combined with other procedures?
Absolutely. Many patients combine a mini facelift with eyelid surgery, brow lift, or dermal fillers to achieve more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
Is a mini facelift painful?
Discomfort is typically mild and manageable with prescribed medications. Most patients describe the experience as easier than expected.
